With cars getting more and more like computers the days of repairing you car on a Sunday afternoon are gone. Cars now have an E.C.U or electronic control unit.

This monitors how the car is running and sends and receives signals and constantly changes settings so that the car runs as efficiently as possible, it also stores faults that may occur whilst driving and these faults need specialist equipment to help diagnose the problem.
